Space Wolves WIP

Greetings gentiles,

Just thought I'd show you a couple of pics of my "Space Wolves in the making". It's all part of my "slowly, but surely" plan to finish all the required units I'd need to successfully run "The Wolf Time" scenario from the Book of the Astronomican. Their almost finished actually, base coating & highlights are done, just need to apply a few washes & some detail work and they'll be finished.....oh, and the basing too ;) On second thought, there's still a shit load to go isn't there!? Oh well, onwards & upwards.

Clicky click the pic if you want to see them more closer uppera!

I'm pretty excited to see how these things are gunna turn out too :)

I've mounted the five Bullock Jet Cycles on plastic chopsticks (as you do) while I attack them with my painting "skills". They'll be mounted, in the end, on those flimsy clear placky flying bases that are...well....pretty damn flimsy!

Cheers :)

    1. Hi Lornalim,

To be perfectly honest, I don't know ;) It came straight out of my "mystery box". I think it may have originally been part of some plastic Eldar vehicle thingy? I got a bunch of them as part of a mixed EBay sale years ago.....so it's possibly part of that collection?

Sorry I can't tell you exactly, I just saw it & thought it'd look cool mounted on his power fist :) I always try to personalise my placky marines a little.

Cheers, and I'm glad your liking them so far.

  3. Those jet cycles really are looking pretty good. This whole thing should be a fun scenario. You're going to make me redo half my old wolf army yet.

I'd love to see your take on Space Wolves. I'm glad my continuing efforts have motivated/shamed you into redoing yours :D

  4. Great project mate, it'll look awesome all finished up - great idea to lay them out in a sheet to keep track of the weapon loadouts. I really can't wait to see those jetbikes!

    1. Thanks Mr Lead :)

Exactamuno on the partitioned sheet. I think I would have pulled what little hair I have left completely out if I hadn't done it this way. I'm still trying to figure out how to differentiate them when their finished too. I'm thinking of either putting a mark on the base or giving them special insignia? I'm leaning more to the base option, even though the insignia would look cool, I think the base marking would be a lot easier to spot on the gaming table.

Yeah, as I mentioned, I'm itching to see the bikes done too.

      Cheers buddy :)

  5. That is awesome, always wanted to do something like that but ended up staying in the fantasy age :(

    1. Thanks Brett,

Actually, I've got a foot in both camps. It's just that at this stage in my "hobby life" RT is king, but I think the fantasy itch will rear it's head in the not too distant future....I'm sure of it :)
