Howdy folks!

Hi all,

Now before I begin I just want to let you all know that this post does not mean that I'm back to blogging again. Well, I suppose it does bit....I mean, this IS a blog post after all, but what I mean is is that this is a one off. Something that I felt needed to be said and so I decided to post it here on my old blog.

A mate of mine put me onto an awesome blog the other day called Awesome Lies. He warned me that I could potentially lose hours reading through all of the posts, but it was a risk I was willing to take. It's been around for a long time, and I guess that for some (or all) of you it may well be something that you've been reading/following for a long time already, but for me it's all new.

Anyway, just a quick post to let you all know that I think it's well worth a look if you're into oldschool wargaming & roleplaying......and haven't already been reading it for years.

Enjoy :)

  1. I love Awesome Lies! Oh, and glad you're back!

    1. It's great isn't it! He's researched his chosen topics very well and they're pretty much all on subjects that I'm interested in.

      And I'm back.....just this once ;)

      Cheers Andrew.

  2. I look forward to wasting a portion of my life on that blog - looks awesome indeed. I'm also glad you're back. Now two of us have said it so it's official - Mr P. is blogging again! XD

    1. It's a good read it is! Glad I wasn't the only one who hadn't heard of it before......that's now you Steve :p

And the blog thing? Is there a table flip emoji on here somewhere? :D

  3. Thanks...
Yes, my poor blog has been very neglected as well.
If only there was something I could, as a lowly individual about that.

    1. Hey Major!

Glad you like the link :)

As far as blogging goes, for me, it just wasn't scratching that gaming itch as much as it used to when I first started.

What's the reason why you've left yours idle? Do you think you'll go back to it?

  4. Hiya! Glad to see that you're posting again (if not really blogging, honest...). I'll have a look at Awesome Lies shortly. Cheers, Toby.

    1. Hi Toby,

Sorry I took so long to reply. I've been pretty slack with the blogging stuff, including not commenting on other peoples creations, to my shame.

I've seen your output steadily increasing over the past six months or so. I like what I see, just too lazy to comment.

      Take care.

  5. Man, you need to post more to make me feel more guilty about not getting anything painted or any games played, dang it! Could you please? It would help me so much, and that's why you blog, right?

Oh, it's not? Oh. Well, why then? For your own reasons? Oh. Well . . . Okay. I suppose that's all right.

Anyway, I will investigate the link forthwith. :)

    1. Hey Composer,

Your comments still don't pop up on my email for some strange reason, only stumble on them when I'm looking through my old blog. No matter, I've seen it now :)

To your question, why blog in the first place? I don't know really. A few things happened in my life at the same time to make it a logical choice for me to begin. Moving OS, active on the forum, commenting more on other peoples blogs etcetera. Now that I'm back home, and the forum is essentially dead, I don't feel the same desire to blog anymore.

As far as motivation for your own projects, I'm afraid you're on your own with that one man.....good luck :)

Oh, and I hope you find the link I posted here to be informative.

Take care and keep on truckin.

    2. Thank you sir, I will keep on truckin.

But about the forum . . . It's not dead yet. It was gravely wounded, but it might even be getting better. I'm running the annual miniature exchange there and we still get submissions. It's a genestealer cult this year, and the spot color is green if you're interested. I've got three entries in hand, not counting my own. And I believe another is already in the mail, so there will at least be five. Should be six or seven when all is said and done. It's not as epic as years past, but there's still a good volume of stuff. :)
