Orks, orks bloody ork's!!!

"I choose to finish my remaining Space Orks!.... I choose to paint them in this month and do the other things (not bloody likely!), not because they are easy, but because they are hard!".....or in my case nigh impossible.

Hello dear follower's,

Welcome to another episode of "let's try and complete something that I've started". Today I present to you my unfinished Space Ork's that I'm entering in for this month of Orctober.

Here they be,

My "left over's" :)

"IF" I manage to get these guys all done before the end of Orctober then I'll have over 40 of them done, ready to blast figurative boltgun shells at my enemies with.
Last year's Orctober entry for me was completed & submitted a tad late, December if I recall correctly. Hopefully this year's effort won't be a repeat.

So, wish me a metric tonne of luck for success.....or curse me if you would love to see me fail you evil bastards!

  1. Do it! FINISH them! And then we can forgive you for your unnecessary use of apostrophes ;) I have my own list of 18 humans, a zombie cyborg and Ork battleship to do before a certain festive holiday so you are not alone!

    1. Thanks Ragsta,

Punctuation and all other things literary are not my strongest points that's for sure :D

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has self imposed a restricted painting schedule. I just hope I can make it...before the end of the year ;)

      Cheers.

    1. I should be able to get it done theoretically. It's the practical aspect that I'm concerned about :D

      Thanks JB :)

  4. You can have a metric fudge-ton of 'get them the flip done!' from me too =)

(ps really like the guy at the back with the forage cap- better reserve a decent name for him...)

    1. Thanks Ace,

Forgive my ignorance, but what the fuck is a "forage cap"? :D

    2. Haha! After looking at your photo again I realised there was at least three Orks that fit my description! =P

I meant the guy with the brown leather gloves at the back/centre.
A forage cap is a military soft cap worn instead of a combat helmet or dress head wear - these Orks look like they've been given some 'Das Afrika Korps' hats during sculpting, not the only instance of German military design found on GW Space Orks! (Spiked helmets, Swastikas in their heraldry, stick bombs, Stahlhelms on the Stormboys etc)
Nice work though - I have a few of these guys hidden somewhere - would love to spend some time on them (and my absolute favourites - the Blood Axe Kommandos - another German theme there...) =)

PS I ahven't forgotten about the Sacemarien box, just locating it is proving difficuklt at the moment.

    1. Thanks Erny,

I'm making progress on them so hopefully they'll be finished this month :D

The layering technique is a bit hit & miss to tell you the truth, but it does help none the less.

Oh, and thanks for not forgetting about the box, even if you've forgotten where it is :p

      Cheers

    1. Thanks Sean,

Yeah, even though it's a bit of an unwanted nudge (peer group pressures a bitch sometimes :p), Orktobers' been a great motivator for me to get some of my unpainted minis finished off.

I'm just about to hit these dude's with the final coat of matte varnish and they'll be done!

      Cheers :)
