The castings' done dude.

Well, I've returned home to my other home about a weeks ago & while I was there I spent a bit of time casting up fifteen of the Bullock jet cycles. It's been a while since my last blog post, so for those of you that have no idea what the hell I'm going on about, why not have a look at this, this, this and this so that you can fully appreciate my ramblings better. All done? Good! :)

Enough talk, here's some photo's:

All the bits needed to build fifteen of the blighters.

So after I unpacked all the important stuff from my trip i.e. minis, casting stuff etcetera (bugger the clothes and other sundry items) I began working on assembling one of them. So, here is the first one off the rank, ready to be painted by yours truly.

"Who's the boss?"

Notes:

You may have noticed that there's a boltgun hanging off the back of the bike? In the Wolf Time campaign the riders are equipped with them, and seeing as I'm primarily making these for said game I've decided to stay as faithful to the mini descriptions as possible.

I've only gotta bang out another four of these guys for the game, so it shouldn't take too long. I haven't painted for so long now though that I'm feeling a little apprehensive about lifting a brush again. I've been in this situation before, and I know I'll be fine when I get back in the saddle, but it still feels a little strange none the less.

So, why did I make fifteen of them if I only needed five? Well, for two reasons really. The first was that I thought that if anyone was interested enough in my creation then I'd have a few spares that I could part with. And the second was that I didn't want to waste the left over resin, as I wouldn't have been able to bring it with me on the plane anyway. I'll be keeping hold of ten of them I think, five for the campaign & five for future projects. So I'll be selling off the other five.......if anyone wants them that is! :)

Now the boring stuff:

I'm thinking GBP 2.50 per completed bike sounds ok? But please keep in mind that I'm not a professional caster, and as such they will require some minor filling of pin holes. I'm just doing this for a bit of fun :) If your still interested then just let me know in the comments section. Depending on demand I think I'll limit one bike per sale on a first come first served basis. Once that's been taken care of I'll be completing the sale through the Oldhammer forum.

Cheers :)

    1. Hi Lornalim,

Wow! You must really like them to want the lot. Thank-you very much :)

Regarding payment, the only way I'll be selling them will be via the Oldhammer forum. I know it may seem pedantic, but I know everyone on their & I feel comfortable to trade with the members.

      Sorry :(

    1. Thanks for the vote of confidence leadballoony, but I think I better wait to hear what the people who bought them say first before I start contemplating mass production hehehe :)

      Cheers.

  6. Well done on all your hard work. I think with a lick of paint (and your skilful paintbrushing) these will come out great! Not sure about the gun handles on those front mounted bolt guns though... Surely superfluous?

    1. Thanks Ragsta,

I think with the pistol grips it means that the standard bolter (or any other weapon for that matter) can be attached to the bike.

  7. Oh, very nicely done! Need to wander over to the forum and see if there are any left. As usual, I picked a bad time to be away. :D

    1. Yeah, their all gone now....sorry :(

I know the feeling of being late to the party all too well. Remember that awesome looking Robot that someone made about a year ago? The one that was made from the illustration from RT? I really wanted one, but I wasn't on FB, so I missed it :(

  8. They are amazing bikes...if there was a way to get these available to others and you have the energy I would definitely buy more...I have converted a Fimir Space Pirate warlord to sit on your bike and posted it up on the dedicated thread on the Oldhammer forum for you to see...thanks so much for making this possible

    1. Hi Paul,

Wow! You sure didn't waste any time did you :D You must have painted it straight out of the letter box!?

For your efforts, you have been awarded a golden E-trophy for being the first of the five recipients to have completed the Bullock's.....well done!

Regarding me making more? Dunno, casting is not one of my favourite pastimes :(

I'm glad you've enjoyed making my homemade mini Paul, brings a smile to my dial knowing that someone other than myself liked the end result :)

      Cheers.

  11. Hi, Will here in the UK. I realise this is a 2 year old thread but...I am currently building a new entire RT Ravenwing company and I have 18 Bullocks to use as Black Knights. I just need the front built up cowling/engine part - I have legs, bolters and will do something slightly different with the rear. Could I possibly buy 18 of those? If not, could I buy 1 and home recast? Thanks!
