The fat bastard's done :)

Kulo......well, my interpretation of him anyway. His done & dusted, on the mini shelf and ready for pretend space war, and late for Orctober (as per usual). Here's some gratuitous shots of him for you to cringe at and enjoy;

Smile for the camera big guy.....I SAID SMILE YA UGLY CUNT!!!!!

Oh well, his not very cooperative at the moment, so let's get on with his equipment check instead shall we?

Two suspensors to offset Mick (a.k.a. Stomach) and his primary Bolt-pistol, check!

Neuro Disruptor and an overhanging gut, check!

Secondary Bolt-pistol and Power-pack, check!

Evidence of poor eating habits and a Power-fist, check!

Three "skull & crossbones" tattooed on forehead, check!

Bad arse shoulder pad art, check!

Okely dokely, there's not a whole lot left to say about him now is there?...................................mmmmmmmmmm, ok, what do you guys think about him? Is he a rockin space MOFO or a god awful green blob?

Cheers fellas :)

Boy he looks ace mate ! Dirty and creepy as fuck, totally fluff proof, that's a total win from where I stand.
You must be totally relieved to have this one done now, time did pay.

    1. Thanks mate,

Yeah, I'm glad his finished. It was a very interesting learning experience with all that GS'ing. I'm a little less afraid of using now.....just a little less :)

      Glad you like him.

  2. The freehand is absolutely great. Love the tattoos and the shoulder pad art. And he looks well put together, sloppy, and green. I think you hit your target. Baron Kulo Horkonen before he lost the ability to walk on his own? Looks good!

    1. Ah yes, the good old Baron :) I haven't checked the timeline, but did Dune precede Astronomican?

I won't lie to you, that shoulder design is all Decal. No way on this green earth I can freehand that good Composer :D

      Thanks :)

    1. Thanks Suber,

I'm really happy with how this second iteration of Kulo turned out. Can't wait to see him moving across the pretend battlefield......very slowly :)

      Cheers.

  4. Oh yeyah! Nailed it mate - instantly recognisable to anyone who is in the know re. Wolftime, (and still bloody cool for those that ain't). As JB said, totally fluff-proof, and bonus points for C-bombing it ;-) High fives dude!

    1. Yeah! I got praise for my filthy language.....my mother would be proud :D

You know something, I've been caught up in this "Wolf time" thing for so long now that I've sort of assumed that everyone knows it. Heck, I didn't even know it existed until a few years ago. Must be something to do with the rarity/expense of The Astronomican?

Anyway, I'm glad you like him & yeah, his a fun bad dude whichever way you wanna use him.

      Cheers Leady :)

  5. That is absolutely disgusting... And I mean that in a good way 😉 He kinda reminds me of Pizza the Hut from Spaceballs.

For some reason, Everytime I look at the pictures, I fixate on the gun. I really like how the rust came out in it. Excellent work!

    1. Thanks Andrew :)

Yeah, his a pretty filthy old bugger isn't he. I'd completely forgotten about Spaceballs, saw it a long time ago. Pizza the Hut, what a guy :D

The pistol is pretty prominent, not intentionally mind you, as I couldn't find one that was true to the illustration. I tried to make one, but alas, it looked too crap to use. The rust is just watery orange & brown paint, wiped off with my finger :)

      Cheers :)

  6. God, I love/hate that layer of fat that comes up and over his belt. It's almost (but not quite) enough to distract me from how well you painted the insignia on his shoulder-plate.
    Truly grand work!

    1. Oh, how I wish I could paint that well Matthew, alas, tis but a measly transfer :)

The gut? Without it he is just an ordinary Ork. But with it he becomes the Grand Pooh-Bah!

      Cheers Matthew :)

  7. Well that has turned out well. An orc version of Baron Harkonnen to me. Awsome

  8. Really really nice final job - great painting and choice of colours too. Well done for your perseverance in completing Kulo. For me this is the one thing that has made a difference in me getting stuff done - powering through the moments where I wanted to give up!

    1. Thanks Ragsta,

I'd never sculpted anything before I began Kulo V1. The GS that I had in my desk draw was over five years old....it'd never been touched! So, after that failed I was ready to chuck in the towel, thinking to myself that I had bitten off more than I could chew. But I didn't want to let it beat me, so I had another look around on the net for a suitable donor again. I think it was pure luck that I found this guy.

This experience has forced me to play with GS a lot more than I would have liked too. I've now gained enough confidence in using it that I won't shy away from trying to convert a mini like this again in the future.

I'm glad you like him :)

      Cheers.

  9. He looks terrific! Very close to the original illustration. Disgusting and great! He just needs a hero sandwich. Or...maybe that'd be going too far.

    1. Thanks Mr Mouse :)

My son gave me a suggestion half way through the conversion that I should put a drumstick in his power fist. It was a good idea, only deciding against it because I just wanted to get him done ASAP :)

      Cheers.
